Irregular sleep patterns and sleeping difficulties are very common symptoms among mental health sufferers that are most often the causation of psychological factors. Sleep issues can also lead to the development other mental health and well-being complications and can impact a person’s day-to-day life and ability to function at their usual capacity.


Commonly known disorders associated with sleep disturbances are:

Symptoms of sleep disorders vary depending on the type. These can include, but are not limited to:

  • Fatigue or tiredness when waking in the morning

  • Fatigue or extreme tiredness throughout the day

  • Lack of concentration

  • Agitation in your lower limbs

  • Mood changes/swings

  • Irritability

  • Snoring or heavy breathing during sleep

  • Headaches

  • Inability to get to sleep or waking often throughout the night

Treatment

Much like all other conditions, the treatment will vary based on the type and severity of symptoms. There are a number of treatments that can have a profoundly positive effect on the improvement of a person’s condition. This is based on each individual and what will work for them.
